Creative Works Submissions
The Literary Devotees accepts 2-3 works per category each month to display in our literary journal. We require a form being sent before contacting you and requesting your work. We highly request you read this page before filling out the form. If your work violates any of our rules, we will have no requirement to publish it onto our site.
Requirements
These are our non-negotiable requirements when it comes to publishing an article. Please read through carefully, and if you have any questions or concerns, send us an email (literarydevotees@gmail.com). Our rules may change or update with the course of time.
No Nsfw or Hate Speech.
The Literary Devotees is a safe place for all readers and writers. Any piece of writing that marginalizes a community or includes explicit content will be dismissed from our consideration.
You Must Be a Teenager to Submit.
Although we welcome readers of all ages, our platform is specifically meant to uplift teen writers (13-19). It can be difficult to find places to welcome teen writers. It is our goal to allow this place to cater towards them and give them the voice that they deserve.
It Must Be an Original Work.
The submitter must have written the work by themselves without plagiarizing or using AI. We want to hear your authentic voice! We understand that it is more convenient to use these methods, but we will not publish works that weren't written by you.
It Cannot Be Published on Another Site.
We want our works to be special and one of a kind. Please do not submit works that have been published by other literary journals or have been published independently onto other sites (e.g.: Tumblr, Substack, X /Twitter, etc.). However, feel free to elaborate on previous thoughts written or published elsewhere; as long as it is fundamentally different and original.
Submission Categories
Books That Changed Me
Any genre of book (fiction, romance, nonfiction, etc.) that changed your point of view or life somehow! Book analysis, reviews, recommendations, or any other sort of deep dives are welcome!
Letters to Characters
Any character analyses (positive or negative) expressing gratitude towards characters who impacted your life/worldview, or perhaps anything you wish was different! Any opinions on soul characters or groups of characters fall within this category.
Authors You Wish You Could Talk To
Like Holden Caulfield from The Catcher In the Rye said, sometimes an author picks your brain so much that you want to call them on the phone! This is the place to express gratitude or opinions on certain authors; including (but not limited to): questions on certain plot lines, their world-building, any thought process they had, beliefs they held that showed in their writing, and so on.
Rhythm of Love
Analyze your favorite poet or poetry! Feel free to rewrite a poem from a different point of view, or even write response poems.
